What are the responsibilities of a Home Health Aide? (HHA)

“Home health aides work in clients’ homes (or residential care facilities) where they help care for those who need services that exceed what companion care can provide. Home health aides provide hands-on care, including feeding assistance, bathing and dressing. In some instances, home health aides will also assist with duties such taking a patient’s temperature, pulse rate, and blood pressure.

Home health aides help elderly, convalescent, or disabled persons live in their own homes, whether that home is an individual residence or a retirement.”

A home health aide will assist with
the following services and more:

Bathing
Walking Assistance
Posture Positioning
Continence Care
Oral Hygiene
Special Diet (Support Plan)
Eating Assistance
Toileting Assistance

In addition to these basic services, our home health aides are required to document all services provided in Daily Care Notes. That’s because we feel it’s important to keep the family informed of the client’s care plan and answer any questions. The Daily Care Notes are a cornerstone of our home health aide services. We want everyone to feel comfortable with the caregiving situation and keep the lines of communication open.

Whether you live in the same town or are on the opposite coast, United Family Health Care will keep in touch with the family on a regular basis regarding our home health aide services.

Family Care Plan Review

It’s important to keep the family informed of the client’s care plan and answer any questions. This review is a cornerstone of our home health aide services. We want everyone to feel comfortable with the caregiving situation and keep the lines of communication open. Whether you live in the same town or are on the opposite coast, United Family Health Care will make sure our home health aides keep in touch with the family on a recurring basis.

Our network of home health aides provide in-home care and assistance for the elderly and disabled. We help you or your loved ones by arranging for trained, insured caregivers in the home for as little as a few hours or as much as 24 hours a day. Our home health aides help with the everyday tasks that provide individuals a way to remain independent in their own homes.

We take care of a range of needed services including:

Transportation to doctor appointments, and other events
Medication reminders
Light exercise
Shopping and errands
Companionship and Support
Much more…

United Family Health Care Agency difference is in the caregivers we choose. We want you to ask, “Would I hire this person to care for my own mother?” and have the answer be “yes”, every time. Seeking out a caregiver who wants more than just a job is the key to our home health aide selection process. Our caretakers love what they do and it shows through in the quality of care our clients receive. United Family Health Care often hears that our home health aides have the empathy and demeanor of a volunteer. In fact, many of them say that working for United Family Health Care Agency is like Volunteering With A Paycheck.
